Varian Turbo-V 550 ICE Controller

Condition: Refurbished
In Stock

The Varian (Agilent) Turbo-V 550 ICE Controller is a solid-state, microprocessor-driven frequency converter designed to drive and monitor Varian Turbo-V 550 series turbomolecular vacuum pumps. The controller regulates current and voltage supplied to the pump during the ramp-up phase and adapts drive frequency during high gas-load processing.

Equipped with an alphanumeric LCD front panel and membrane keypad, the controller provides real-time diagnostic reporting on rotational speed, power consumption, operating temperature, and pump cycle logging. System interlocks integrate with external cooling switches, pressure relays, and foreline valves to ensure automatic protection across UHV system setups.

Key Features & Lab Benefits

  • Microprocessor-Controlled Drive: Automatically ramps rotational speed while monitoring rotor temperature and power consumption to protect turbine bearings under load.

  • Integrated Cycle Logging: Onboard EEPROM tracks total operating hours, current cycle elapsed time, and total vacuum start/stop cycles for routine maintenance tracking.

  • Auxiliary Power Control: Dedicated J6/J7 sockets power external cooling fans and foreline backing pump relays directly from the controller's logic states.

  • Complete Fault Diagnostics: Self-diagnostic error reporting identifies over-temperature, power imbalance, or improper foreline pressure conditions directly on the LCD panel.
