The Edwards / Seiko Seiki SCU-301 is a 5-axis active magnetic bearing (AMB) control unit engineered to drive and monitor middle-capacity STP-301 and STP-451 series turbomolecular vacuum pumps. Operating as a half-rack, solid-state frequency converter, the SCU-301 regulates magnetic levitation current to provide friction-free, oil-free rotor suspension with minimal operational vibration.

Designed with automatic vibration reduction (AVR), self-diagnostic logic, and emergency battery-free power levitation, the SCU-301 ensures complete rotor stabilization across acceleration, steady-state high-vacuum operation, and automatic dynamic braking cycles.
